![]() Here, we model the effect of the atmosphere on link efficiency between an Earth station and a satellite using an optical uplink and how AO can help recover from loss due to turbulence. ![]() Adaptive optics (AO) techniques have been used in astronomical, communication, and other applications to reduce the detrimental effects of turbulence for many years, but their applicability to quantum protocols, and their requirements specifically in the uplink scenario, is not well established. The performance of applied protocols such as quantum key distribution (QKD) depends significantly on the transmission efficiency through the turbulent atmosphere, which is especially challenging for ground-to-satellite uplink scenarios. It's much worse than the trading route but if you don't have much to do at that moment it's a way to get extra resources. For quantum communications, the use of Earth-orbiting satellites to extend distances has gained significant attention in recent years, exemplified in particular by the launch of the Micius satellite in 2016. With bartending skill or the boozehunters you can also sell beer for a good price.ĮDIT: Also you can use your radio to ask the network to locate rucksacks, that will give you 3 locations to look for and will spawn rucksacks. You need a pill press (from a med trader, either from the wild or summoned with the depot), a pharmacologist (spec from chemistry) and a source of meds and ethanol (so hydroponics/farms to get meds and food, and converting food into ethanol with the still). Painkiller crafting is the easiest way to generate enough influence (you craft that and then sell them to allied enclaves or neutral traders, a survivor with maxed resourcefulness will help a lot to carry all those painkillers). You just need a way to generate enough influence to sustain this. If some allied enclave sells those rucksack you can buy regularly from them. With the trade depot you can call ammo traders that will sell 3 of them (so 24 ammo each 90 minutes and you can lower that CD with some allied enclave benefits and cell tower outposts significantly). ![]() Trading is quite powerful so I'd say get a trader leader and explore that route (you can demote him after building the trade depot and one still 2 if you don't want that legacy). There are ways to get resources other than just scavenging them. Like ammo, im legit getting 1 ammo a day, and i cant do much other than hope RNG is on my side and i get a trader with ammo since ive looted literally every single ammo shop there is on the map. ![]() I just find it annoying how ive pretty much exhausted the world for what it has to offer, and need to rely on outposts to slowly bring those resources in. But good to know, i somehow managed to pool up like 4k influence just doing menial BS, so i can def afford one of em. Remember you can always abandon outposts if you really need an outpost near a location for some reason (heavy scavenging, need a fallback point or a quick way to access a plague cure XD) im only on day 8, so i havent had any run ins with the red talon besides i think the gas bombs and whatever BS they spout on the radio. Just keep an eye for network traders as those sell the mod that gives you a +2 outpost limit for 500 influence) Originally posted by Logid:In my experience there are more than enough tbh, it does start limited but between upgrading the CC and getting the mods (and even the Red Talon) you can get to even 7.
